Symptoms of eczema varies from person to person, but in general they include:
- Itchy skin
- Red inflamed patches on the skin
- Hardened patches of skin, that can also be scaly
- In some instances, the skin oozes a white liquid
The severity of the eczema can be so dramatic, that at times hospitalisation may be necessary and use of very strong medication is required in order to ablate the severe itching and the burning.
Eczema is an autoimmune condition and at present there are no cures. The severity of the eczema may worsen with age, however, change in life style to reduce immune stimulation, would be beneficial in remaining symptom free for longer periods.
